how to Setup DP so client will download only from Local DP but not Primary site server (WAN) Link

Question

Our infrastructure give below

Main Site A : Server name (PrimSCCM01 / 10.3.22.1 / 24) Roles (SUP, MP, DP, FSP, etc)

Site B: Server Name (DPSCCM01/ 10.249.210.150/24) Roles (DP, Site server)

Client IP address range

1)(10.249.0.1 to 10.245.1.1/23)

2) (10.249.150.10 to 10.249.151.254)/23

3) 10.249.6.102 To 10.249.6.250/24

As we configured our Local DP but still client getting Software updates content from Main Site ‘A’ but some client getting from Site B.

my question is why our client is keep downloading data from Site A and sometime from Site B as well.

All content successfully distribute to distribution point sever

please let me know if i am doing something wrong here.

I do not see issues with the boundary configuration and DP settings.

Not sure if this makes any difference but can you check how the Deployment is made, under content tab of deployment for fallback options.

This video can help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9K9_NPQL_o for better understanding of how client will pick the content.

Have you added site system for each boundary group when you created boundaries?

      Hi Sir,

I have created IP Address Range boundaries and added Local DP (Server B) on Site System Servers Tab in References . On Relationship Tab; I have added Default Site Boundary Group P01 (where Server A Listed) and Mark check box DP (Never Fallback) , Software Update Point (unchekced)120 Minutes, Management Point (Unchekced ) 0 minutes.

i am suspicious on Setting of Default-boundary-Group-P01 as Default Behavior all 3 option are checked.
Distribution point >> checked Never Fallback
software Update point >> checked Never Fallback
Management Point >> checked Never Fallback

Hi Sir, I found this article and it says client will prefer on DP’s with BITS enabled. i have checked our primary server (Site A) has BITS enabled but for remote DP (Site B) not.
do you think if i remove BITS role from Site A so thats make any issue or i should add BiTS on Site B as well.
      I need your help sir.

    Hi Sir,

if i unchecked the option so client must be using Site A; as we have added Site A server to Default Boundary Group site P01. That’s our problem actually, client downloading data from Site A not the Site B.
if someone can share the best option on Default Boundary Group Site that’s very helpful for me.

I know SCCM ConfigMgr Boundary group and fall back options and logic are bit complex.

Have you tried removing the fallback option from SITE B boundary group relationship tab https://snipboard.io/lqufI5.jpg
