Maintenance Window
Question
I have 2 server SUG. SUG 1 – with all months updates and maintenance Window time 3 – 9 pm. SUG 2 – With current month updates and separate maintenance Window 10 PM – 4 am. Servers in both windows are same.
In this scenario I see current month patch was installed at 4 pm and restarted.
Just wanted to confirm whether this is correct setup or need any changes.

I just checked event viewer and could see patch was installed outside maintenance Window & ccmexec initiated restart.
Checked updatesdeployment & could see patch deployed via sccm
There is no overlap.
One window is from 3 – 9 pm
Other one is from 10 PM to 4 am
Clients on both maintenance Window are same.
Have you checked the maintenancecoordinator.log to confirm this or reports to confirm this?
I have explained this https://www.anoopcnair.com/create-sccm-maintenance-windows-reports/
Is there any overlap in the SCCM maintenance window?
If the maintenance windows don’t overlap, the client treats them as two independent SCCM Client maintenance windows.
If the maintenance windows overlap, the client treats them as a single window for the entire time of both windows. For example, you create two maintenance windows on a collection. The first window is effective from 6:00 to 7:00, and the second window is effective from 6:30 to 7:30. Because they overlap by 30 minutes, the effective duration of the combined maintenance window is 90 minutes from 6:00 to 7:30.
