Need to understand “WsusUpdateServicesPackages” on folders share seen permission to Everyone as read permission ! Why Require read permission to everyone on? What is role of this folder .

 

If security prospective of everyone’s permission Remove then what is impact with wsus

 

Please explain in detail about Shree permission of updateservice  on everyone as read .

    Hello,
    Updateservicespackage folder is used for third party applications.so if you are using SCUP or in built SCCM third party patching option like for products Adobe,dell etc then this folder is required under WSUS.

    Regarding permissions as per recommendation the root folder i.e WSUS should have atleast read permissions for users and NT Authority service.
    But it has been seen that sometimes it cause issues while downloading third party updates for which permission for everyone is required.
