Some PCs show pending reboot even after successful upgrade to Win 10 1909 through SCCM Feature Update deployment

Question

Hi All. Some PCs show pending reboot even after successful upgrade to Win 10 1909 through SCCM Feature Update deployment. Tried multiple reboots. Usual Windows Update components related troubleshooting also done. But still same behavior. Any help please?

Hi, you can initiate the software update evaluation cycle and ensure no update required.

Hello Venu – Had you already tried to try to restart the SMS service and re-run the software update cycle? You can perform tests on one or two machines and check the result!

Yes, those steps are done. I will do the compliance refresh vbs and see if that helps.

Most of the troubleshooting done. Still no go. I see statemessage log with topictype 500 and stateID 2. Also updatedeployment log suggest that update is still required to be installed whereas the OS version is showing 1909 and installed with the cumulative update & SSU for 2021-04. Is it more of a compliance reporting issue or OS related issue? As i said earlier, compliance refresh is done. Even after that the statemessage remain same.
