Task Sequence Not Available
Question
We have deployed a Task Sequence to “Known” and “Unknown” both the device collections.
The task sequence works fine for “Unknown” Computers but for “known” computers the Task Sequence never shows up.
Can someone please help with this issue.

What is the process if this is a new hardware and not joined AD
Correction – No, we are not importing computers manually, they are available from AD Systems Discovery
Are you using single task sequence and it is deployed to a single collection.
Can you try to copy that task sequence and deploy to another custom collection.
What you need to test is one task sequence deployed to collection which has unknown computers and the second one deployed to collection which has known computers.
Deleting record from SCCM works fine – I forgot to mention.
There are lots of computer with the same issue and every time the site have to raise a request to delete the record so it works then, We need a automated way, something like Prestart Command to do that.. Is there a way ??
Merge duplicate records option is enabled? More details -> https://www.anoopcnair.com/configmgr-sccm-merge-obsolete-records/?asd
Have you checked all these?
Naveen – I think we need to have a look at SMSTS.log as well in the console to have a better view of the issue.
Is there any duplicate record in the console with the same this could cause some issues with Task Sequence availability?
More details about SMSTS log https://www.anoopcnair.com/sccm-osd-task-sequence-ultimate-guide/
The one thing I noticed is that MAC Address for a test computer record in SCCM is different than the actual MAC Address.
Delete the wrong record from the sccm and create new one
If that’s case as Anoop Sir suggested, try deleting the entries and recreate may help to resolve this issue!
Is this happening for an individual machine? Let us update further on progress

Have you checked the task sequence properties if it is available to only media or PXE clients or also for configmgr clients.
The computers facing issues , is the NIC card integrated to it or you are using any external adapter to connect LAN.
I prefer to use SMBIOSGUID instead of MAC.
Yes it has been made available to Media and PXE both, NIC is there and no external adapter is being used.
What do you mean by “I prefer to use SMBIOSGUID instead of MAC.” , Is there any configuration setting we can switch to SMBIOSGUID instead of MAC ?
My Point was if you are imaging bare metal with sccm while importing machines using smbiosguid.
Now we are importing computers manually, they are available from AD Systems Discovery
