  1. this “2020-01 update for windows server 2016 (KB4494175)” showing as expired and it is saying that this update supersedes another update.

but i could not find “2020-09 update for windows server 2016 (KB4494175)” in WSUS.

Well superseded updates – that is it then … so you need to deploy new one … but I think I have copied your last reply and it’s seem there is a typo in the kb article number

Yes anoop sir, we want to deploy new KB4494175 but it is not showing in WSUS console.

      • You said it shows superseded I’m getting confused… where it shows superseded if it’s not visible in wsus

this 2020-01 update for windows server 2016 (KB4494175) is showing as expired and superseded by another one.

as per the MS update catalog this update is replaced by “2020-09 update for windows server 2016(KB4494175)

This update replaces the following updates:
2018-05 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4091664)
2018-07 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4091664)
2018-08 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4346087)

2019-01 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4346087)
2019-02 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4346087)
2019-05 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4494175)
2019-06 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4494175)
2019-08 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4494175)
2020-01 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4494175)

and i also checked revision history for “2020-01 update” it has revised on 02-sep-2020 and also it is showing as declined.

if possible how can i share the screen shots so that you can get more clarity.

If one particular update is not required for a computer and it won’t get installed on the computer.

I don’t understand what you mean by decline?

You can see some example flow of Software update installation here
