3rd party application patching in intune

Hi Team,

I have gone through below link to learn about 3rd party application patching with Intune. Thanks for the article it is really helpful. But have few query would like to get clarified.

I would like to know the difference between LOB and Win32 application. Why do we choose as win32 for some app instead of lob, when both are .msi format while uploading.

( My understanding is lob app is .msi format and win32 app is converted to .msi format using Tool ).

Please advise.
