Issue can be caused due to domain controller connectivity. Check for issues with the domain controllers.
Domain controller connectivity ? Do you means to say connection is dropping between dp and domain controller ?
1. Please check events in SYSTEM log as well, there might additional information about this service crashing.
2. I had experienced similar issue once, where the WDS service keeps restarting.
The solution was to setup below registry key and then restart the server once.
This was 3 years back and SCCM has evolved now and may not be relevant.
But if problem persist then give a try and check.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\NumberOfThreads and set it to 1
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WDSServer\Providers\WDSTFTP\MaximumBlockSize and set it to Value range: 512–1456 ( set as per your environment / network infra )
Hi, thanks for suggestions. Not much info on system event viewer. And here issue is not wds stopping or restarting. WDS stopped and not at all starting unless I perform steps mentioned in above comment.
Do you have any Antivirus / Threat protection software installed ?
May be its worth verifying if your folder exclusions are in-place.

Hello, Could you please check this steps added from TechNet. Or check the Kayyum suggested links and provide the info that will help us to troubleshoot.

I think you already provided the resolution also. Isn’t it?
Have you already tried to perform the steps mentioned above?
Remove PXE
Uninstall WDS
Or are you asking us is that the best way to resolve the issue?
If so, my first suggestion would be to restart the server and give a try before doing anything.
I think Microsoft doc covers this end to end https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2712387/wds-does-not-start-on-a-pxe-enabled-remote-distribution-point-in-syste
Hi, Yes I have done this around 18-20 servers till date since last 2 weeks. I have removed pxe and then uninstalled wds and then restart server and then install pxe role which will install wds automatically. But this is recurring issue and what caused this issue I want to know or if anyone else also faced similar issue.
Oops.. that is not good at all
Is there any security hardening done on those servers?
Or is there any specific patch installed on those servers?
I think that could be one of the reasons.
Also as Keyyum mentioned, check the event logs of those dates in the server and try to understand what happened
