Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade windows7 Laptops to windows10.

I have created Upgrade Task Sequence and deployed. On laptop getting error below

Windows Setup failed with hexadecimal exit code 0xC1900204 (decimal 3247440388). To identify the type of issue, lookup it against the table of known values of Windows Setup errors online.

  1. Can you provide the entire SMSTS log file? This is a very generic error message. You will find the exact issue in SetupAct.log and SetupErr.log under C:Windows~BT folder which is a hidden folder.
Make sure you have selected the correct image index in the task sequence, it should match the edition of your machine on which you are running the task sequence.
Also, make sure you don’t have any application that could be blocking the upgrade, I can help only if I can have a look at the log files.

  2. Hello Imran , You are getting hexadecimal exit code 0xC1900204 (decimal 3247440388) due to below possible reasons. Please re validate and let us update with complete logs

    – The upgrade path isn’t available or supported.
    – OS Package files has corrupted.
    – Had you selected the proper Index in Upgrade OS Step.
    – Which Windows 10 version moving to from Windows 7 ?

+ Do you have the supported SCCM version Installed.
+ Check the upgrade path details https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/windows-10-upgrade-paths
